The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) is the third level of the Cambridge
exams in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It is
an Upper Intermediate level exam, set at Level B2 (Vantage) of
the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for
Modern Languages, and recognizes the ability to deal
confidently with a range of written and spoken communications.
Successful candidates receive a certificate awarded by the
University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, and recognized by
universities and employers in many countries.
The Self-Study
Book is a user-friendly
reference guide which includes a description of the exam,
commented corrections of sample exams, strategies, tips,
answers, transcripts and more.
An innovative and distinctive feature of
the McGraw-Hill Exam Preparation
Series is the Personal Tutor
option. This service is available at a reasonable cost to any
user of the Exam Preparation Series. It provides a personal
tutor to guide and assess students in the Speaking and Writing
sections of each exam via telephone and email contact. This
service is designed to provide users with a high quality
preparation and a clear advantage when sitting the exam,
although students who decide to use only the Self-Study Book
also receive a thorough preparation. This service is entirely
optional. Additional information and access to the Personal
Tutor option is available on the IELTS
website.
